H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology visits the Chamber.
H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, visited Najran Chamber as part of efforts to strengthen engagement with the business sector and to review the current state and future of the communications and technology sector in the region, as well as its role in supporting digital transformation and sustainable development.
He was received, on behalf of the Chairman of the Board Mr. Badr bin Hamoud Al-Mu’jil, by the First Vice Chairman Mr. Salem bin Mohammed Al Khamsan, with the participation of the Second Vice Chairman Mr. Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Zanati, Board Members Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Salloum, Mr. Salem bin Hadi Al Maraih, and Mr. Abdullah bin Salem Al Mokhles, in addition to the Acting Secretary-General Mr. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Mansour.
During the visit, an expanded meeting was held at the Businessman Hall of Mr. Abdullah bin Kharsan Al Mokhles, with the participation of a number of businessmen and businesswomen, academics, and representatives of telecommunications companies. The meeting addressed the Kingdom’s leading role in digital transformation and the importance of the communications sector in developing digital infrastructure to keep pace with rapid technological advancements, support innovation, and enable the digital economy.
The session also included a number of questions and interventions from attendees, along with discussions on key challenges facing the sector in Najran Region and ways to enhance digital services and boost technology investments in the area.
At the conclusion of the visit, H.E. inaugurated the exhibition organized by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation on the sidelines of the visit at the Chamber’s headquarters, in the presence of Board Members and several officials.
During his tour of the exhibition, H.E. reviewed a number of projects from the Najran Tech Hackathon 2025, presented by young Saudi men and women. He listened to presentations on their technical ideas and their impact on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, reaffirming the Ministry’s support for high-quality initiatives that contribute to developing national capabilities and achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
