On behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Najran Chamber, Mr. Badr bin Hamoud Al-Majal,
the First Vice Chairman of the Board, Mr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Khamsan, received H.E. Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fuheid, President of the Arab Tourism Organization, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of H.E. the Deputy Governor of Najran Region for Developmental Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Jaafar, and the Acting Secretary-General of the Chamber, Mr. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Mansour. The reception took place at the office of businessman Mr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Qadi at the Chamber’s headquarters.

During the meeting, Al-Khamsan welcomed the President of the Organization and his delegation, emphasizing the importance of the visit in supporting efforts to develop local tourism in Najran, given the region’s unique tourism, heritage, and cultural assets that qualify it to be an attractive destination on the national tourism map.

H.E. Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fuheid reviewed the activities of the Arab Tourism Organization and its main initiatives, noting that the organization is an Arab specialized entity aiming to support, develop, and grow the Arab tourism sector by coordinating efforts among member states, providing training and qualification programs, attracting tourism investments, and enhancing partnerships between the public and private sectors. The organization also works to overcome challenges faced by investors and supports sustainable tourism projects across the Arab world.

For his part, the Deputy Governor of the Region for Developmental Affairs highlighted during the meeting the interest and support of H.R.H. Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaad, Governor of Najran Region, “may God protect him,” in harnessing developmental efforts in the region. He confirmed His Highness’s keenness to develop various sectors, including tourism, which is considered a vital sector due to the region’s investment, heritage, tourism, and cultural sites that form key pillars in supporting and developing this sector. He also pointed out the importance of activating strategic partnerships that contribute to tourism development and attract investors, positively impacting the local economy and enhancing Najran’s position as a distinguished tourist destination.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees emphasized the importance of continuing joint coordination to develop the tourism system in the region, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, by promoting sustainable tourism and making it a key contributor to the national economy.
